Are you ready for Christmas?

There are about 35 stampers that are ready for Christmas because they attended the Christmas Card Buffets that were held over at The Barn on August 15th and August 29th! In case you weren't able to come, here are pictures of the cards we created. The stamps are all available at the store, although many have sold out to the lucky ladies that were here! I'll be ordering more as soon as possible!
This angel card was time consuming, but I think everyone liked the final result!Looks like the black ink pad might have gotten too close to this card... it's a little worse-for-wear! The idea for this card was inspired by another design I found online.
We spritzed the pieces of this card with silver Glimmer Mist before assembling for an all-over shimmer!
This card had a very country/traditional feel, and watercolor crayons were used to ink the poinsettia. (You can use markers, too!)
I think this one was a favorite for everyone. This one was also spritzed with the silver Glimmer Mist... it looks really great against the navy cardstock!
This one was a favorite as well! The designer paper from Imaginisce has just a little bit of glitter on the bulbs, and we added more glitter to the stars in the sentiment.
And yet another favorite! The Nativity was embossed with Queen's Gold embossing powder.
These beautiful candles are so elegant, and we used the Copic Airbrush system to add a "glow" in the background.
This was one of my favorites!
This card was quick and easy, but very elegant!
This one also was quick and easy, and although it's quite simple I was suprised to learn how much everyone loved it!

Remember, we have a Copic 101 class coming up on Saturday, September 12th at 10:00 a.m. If you've been wanting to learn how to use Copics, or need a refresher this is the class for you! You'll learn how to select marker colors for proper blending and shading, and have plenty of hands-on time for coloring your stamped images. We will create 3 simple cards with our finished images. Bring your own adhesive and scissors to this class. Call the store or stop in to registers. The cost is $30 and participants will receive a coupon for Buy 6 Markers, Get 1 Free on the day of the class.

And on Tuesday, September 22nd from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, September 29th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. we'll have the "Happy Fall Y'all" Card Class. We'll create four cards with a Fall/Autumn theme, perfect for any occasion. Class size is limited to 8 per class, so call the store or stop in soon to reserve your spot. Bring your own general adhesive, and a pair of scissors for minor trimming and ribbon snipping!

Hope to see you at the store soon!

*NEW* Arrivals!

Hello Toyrifix fans! Just a quick note to let you know of a few new arrivals at the store!

I just unpacked a small shipment from Cornish Heritage Farms that includes a restocking of the 1957 Chevy Bel Air stamp that we had in the Spring, and I also ordered a few more stamps from their General Motors line. These are perfect stamps for more masculine cards! I also got the August and September Stamp-of-the-Month stamps! They're really great, and cling-mounted so very cost-effective. I also got a new set called Cursive Expressions. This is one I'm going to have to have for myself, as it's got great all-occasion sentiments that we can always use in a pretty, cursive font. Some of the sentiments include

With Sympathy
Many Thanks
Thoughts of You
Hello

...and many more. There are ten stamps in all. These are also cling-mounted and a great bargain... 10 stamps for $11.29! You'd probably pay $8-10 each if these stamps were wood-mounts!

I also have a few new stamps from DRS Designs... Leonard the Pig, playing in the mud is back but very limited as several of those stamps were spoken for even before they arrived! (Pat, if you're reading this... give me a call about your stamp!)

Don't forget, the Christmas card buffet coming up on Saturday, August 15th and Saturday, August 29th! The 15th is already almost full, and the 29th is seeing some activity, too. Don't dawdle if you want to get a seat on either day!

Finally, it's possible we may discontinue sending out a bi-monthly newsletter. This blog is such an easy and efficient way to communicate with you all. I can provide updates on new products, classes and other events in a much more timely manner, too. Sometimes we have found too, that the newsletter just gets filled up with miscellaneous things when all anyone really wants to know about are classes! So, for now... don't look for an actual newsletter in your mailbox, but instead keep watching for blog updates in your email box!

Thanks, and happy stamping!
