Product Spotlight

Welcome to a new feature I plan to have here on the Stamping at Toyrifix blog! I hope to be able to do this 3-4 times a month to bring you updates and information about new products, and to also help you become more familiar with products and tools that you might not know a lot about!

Today I am featuring the Mega Mount acrylic stamping handle from Impression Obsession. I'm sure you've seen this in our store before, and have maybe wondered what it's for. This product was developed because when you use traditional stamping methods, large stamps (especially background stamps) are awkward to hold and it is very difficult to get all parts of the stamp to transfer ink to paper, resulting in blotchy impressions and frustrations. This innovative acrylic stamp handle is a full 6" x 6" to accommodate nearly any size image. It features an easy-to-hold handle that you won't drop onto your paper accidentally. The slightly curved surface transfers pressure to only part of the stamp at a time, ensuring a crisp and clean impression every time. Use it with any of your larger-sized cling and clear stamps, or treat yourself to some of the wonderful Cover-a-Card background stamps we have in stock from Impression Obsession! (see below)
Do you love the idea of creating your own background papers quickly, affordably and easily? Impression Obsession's Cover-a-Card background stamps are a full 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" so you can cover an entire A2 card both horizontally and vertically. These red rubber stamps come pre-trimmed with soft gray cling cushion and are ready to use with any acrylic block. However, once you try them with the Mega Mount handle you'll see just how easy it is to create your own background papers!
Cover-a-Card background stamps retail for $12.49 each. However, each month we have a different stamp featured in our Stamp of the Month program for only $6.99! This is a great opportunity to build up a wonderful collection of these background stamps at a very affordable price!

The Mega Mount handle retails for $24.99. For most, this is a little pricey but once you give it a try and see how easy it is to use and what great impressions you get from it, you'll know you can't stamp without it! One of our customers saved up her Stamp Club cards until she had 5 full ones, then used those cards to treat herself to the Mega Mount! You can do the same! Or put it on your birthday wish list and send hubby in to pick it up for you! Ask for a demonstration next time you stop it!

Happy stamping!

Copic 101 Cancelled

Just FYI, the Copic 101 class scheduled for Tuesday, January 18th has been cancelled.

Copic Markers

Many of you know and love Copic markers and how fabulous they are for coloring stamped images, and getting beautiful results with shading and highlighting your images. And I know there are many that are very intimidated by the markers, too! However, did you realize that even without the learning curve with these markers... learning how to choose colors that blend well, learning how to blend, etc. they're just awesome for general purpose coloring, too? When you compare Copic markers to any water-based marker (Tombow, LePlume, etc.) they're incredible! Copic markers are alcohol-based, which means that when you color with them, the alcohol allows the ink to dry quickly and you eliminate those "lines" and inconsistencies you see when you color with other markers. Check out this sample...
This sweet Stampavie image was simply colored with Copics in solid colors... no color families for blending, no shading, etc. Just one color of pink for the dress, one color of brown for the hair, one color for skin, etc. (You can click on the picture for a close-up!) And because of the alcohol and quick-drying time, you can keep applying color without having your cardstock pill as it does with a water-based marker. And you just can't get color saturation and vibrancy like this with a Tombow marker!

PLUS, unlike other markers, Copic markers will last you forever because you can refill them with ink when they start to get dry. And you can replace the marker tips should they get worn out. (However, I personally have some markers that are over 3 years old and I have rarely had to replace a tip!) And we can refill your markers for you at the store for only 0.99 cents!

I challenge you to give them a try if you haven't before! Treat yourself to one marker in every rainbow color and see what you think! At only $4.29 each, they're a good buy for something that will last forever!

Or it's a great way to just tie off a button...

*NEW* from Northwoods

We have new stamps in stock from Northwoods Rubber Stamps! These are great images, and I hope you'll find something you love! (Prices are shown on each stamp... click on the pictures for a larger view.)

I could NOT resist this beautiful stamp! I can't wait to get it inky and add some color. I've been thinking maybe just a lavender watercolor wash over the flowers is all it needs. Keep that in mind... you don't always have to color an entire image.
It seems more and more often I'm asked for pet sympathy stamps, so I added these two to our stock.
I thought the sentiment on this was beautiful!
Hopefully Easter will get here quickly and we can be done with the snow!
This mother mallard leading her babies was just too cute to pass up. The sentiment stamp must be bought with it... they just naturally go together! LOL
What a heavenly scene... makes me long for summer!
Some more stamps for your Valentine card making!
And more beautiful Easter stamps! Who could resist those sweet bunnies?
Happy stamping!
